Velour is a term used for various types of short-pile textiles characterized by a velvety, slightly “fuzzy” surface. We use the term cotton microplush to help customers better understand the surface finish of velour fabric.
Microplush is a popular material, especially in the winter months, but it is commonly offered in a 100% polyester (PES) variant. Although this synthetic material is soft to the touch and may feel warm, its performance reflects the nature of synthetic fibers—it is not breathable, does not wick moisture, and can cause skin or other discomfort over time, especially for sensitive individuals.
Our cotton microplush stands out for its high cotton content (80%), with the remaining 20% PES forming the base structure of this flexible fabric.
Fabric weight: 200 g/m²
Velour fitted sheets are suitable for mattresses up to 30 cm in height, but they can also be used on lower mattresses—with additional fabric tucked underneath. The sheet is highly elastic, which is why it is offered in only four size ranges. It features strong all-around elastic for a secure fit. Custom sizing or other individual adjustments are not possible for fitted sheets.
Care: We recommend washing the sheets at 40°C. The new, improved structure allows tumble drying, which easily removes residual production fibers during the first wash. This minimizes the initial tendency of velour fabrics to “shed.” Velour bedding is easy to care for and does not require ironing.
