Cotton micro-plush (velour) fitted sheet – a stretchable sheet with a velvety-soft plush surface. Velour is a term used for various short-pile textiles known for their soft, gently “fuzzy” surface. We use the term cotton micro-plush to help customers better understand the surface feel and finish of our velour fabric.
Micro-plush is a widely popular material, especially in the winter months, but it is generally offered as 100% polyester (PES). Although this commonly available synthetic fabric is soft to the touch and may feel warm, its performance corresponds to the nature of synthetic fibers – it is not breathable, does not wick moisture, and can cause skin or other discomfort over time, particularly for sensitive individuals.
Our cotton micro-plush contains a high 80% cotton, with the remaining 20% PES forming the base structure of the stretchable fabric.
Weight: 200 g/m²
Velour fitted sheets are suitable for mattresses up to 30 cm high, but can also be used on lower mattresses – the excess fabric will simply tuck under more. The sheet is highly elastic, which is why it is offered in only four size ranges, always in a “from–to” format. It features a strong elastic band sewn all around the perimeter, ensuring a secure fit. Custom sizing or other individual adjustments are not available for fitted sheets.
Care: We recommend washing at 40°C. The improved fabric structure allows tumble drying, which helps remove residual production fibers during the first wash. This significantly reduces the initial tendency to shed, which is typical of velour textiles. Velour bedding is low-maintenance and does not require ironing.
